The school has a well-equipped computer lab which the students use for their practical in order to cope with the needs of the age, computer aided education with audio visuals has been introduced in the school for all students.
Students are facilitated to know and play all sorts of indoor and outdoor games and sports to the extent possible.The school has a playground, which can cater for football and cricket. Besides, there are also adequate provisions for volleyball, badminton and throw ball etc.
Green Shield Academy organise educational tour to add meaning to learning by exploring and celebrating the diversity of our country: Our tours are subject oriented and focused on History, Science and Geography.

Green-Shield Academy, recognised by Government of West Bengal, School Education Department, is a Co-educational English Medium School run by Takdah Green-Shield Educational Society of Takdah Cantonment, Darjeeling, registered under West Bengal Societies Act XXVI of 1961.
The foundation of the school was laid on the 9th of May, 1995 with an aim of availing a good and modern education to the people, who had felt the need for one over a long period of time in the region. Since then the school has come a long way in establishing itself firmly, striving each day for innovations in all aspects of education and aspiring to be the harbinger of a new era in education.
The School aims at education of children in and around Takdah region but also extends its service to the children of elsewhere irrespective of caste, creed, religion or community.
Education in totality with a combination of knowledge as well as development of confidence, personality, morality and responsibility towards oneself, towards other, towards society and towards his/her surroundings, is what the School aims at. Every Green-Shielder is therefore, expected to be a complete human being with integrated personality.
